Small Office Flooding

Small Office Flooding

Located in Tolland Connecticut, this small office building had a pipe break in the bathroom one morning causing almost an inch of flooding. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield immediately brought in their drying equipment and was able to get both the business and their employees back on track.

Hotel Pipe-Break

Hotel Pipe-Break

After a massive snowstorm in West Hartford, a hotel experienced a sizable pipe-break. A main sprinkler system pipe broke on the top floor pouring gallons of water every minute into the hotel. The water spread down to all five floors in the building and created so much humidity that a mold disaster broke out soon after. SERVPRO immediately dispatched their team and brought 100 dehumidifiers, 200 air movers, and 53 air scrubbers to carefully dry every room to avoid spreading mold any further.

Spend $800 to Save $30,000

A Bloomfield homeowner suffered a major water loss behind expensive kitchen cabinets. The standard procedure would have been to cut through the cabinets to fix the plumbing. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield chose to save the cabinets by cutting through the pipes below the cabinets. It was a creative solution that cost $800 of repair work to the pipes but saved the newly installed ornate kitchen cabinets that the homeowner said had cost $30,000.

Sprinkler Pipe Breaks at Nonprofit

Sprinkler Pipe Breaks at Nonprofit

On February 12, 2018, a sprinkler pipe break at a sizable Hartford nonprofit agency damaged about 75,000 square feet of the agency. The agency’s ability to serve clients and keep its employees safe was affected. The agency chose SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield to do all the restoration work. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield began by performing emergency water extraction of several inches of water. SERVPRO then completely dried the area with industrial dryers and tested for mold and mildew. Next, SERVPRO removed and replaced all damaged building materials. During the work, the team discovered and removed hazardous asbestos and applied an anti-microbial spray. The nonprofit commented on the fast response, professional service, and SERVPRO's ability to safely remove hazardous material.

Partial Roof Collapse in Windsor, CT

Partial Roof Collapse in Windsor, CT

Water damage at a Windsor, Connecticut home caused a partial roof collapse. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield worked with a construction company to board up the roof, windows, and doors. We also secured a tarp on the roof to protect the home from further damage. And SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield worked with the insurance adjuster on the next steps to restoring the home. This job reminded us of something important: whether you live in an older home or a brand new home--you need to inspect your roof (regardless of the roof’s age) at least a few times a year and make any necessary repairs. One advantage of inspecting your roof frequently is that you may spot small repairs you can make yourself at little cost. Finding and fixing the small issues prevents them from growing into bigger and much more costly issues.

Water Damage Restoration

When we respond to water damage in Bloomfield, Enfield, Granby, or somewhere else, people are usually surprised by the science and technology required to restore their property to its best possible condition. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield uses psychrometry to fight water damage. Psychrometry is the study of air and its properties (temperature, humidity, vapor pressure, dew point, etc.). Whether your dishwasher’s overflowed or flood waters have invaded or you’ve suffered other water damage, applying psychrometry can minimize the problem. It helps us control temperature and humidity levels. We also use many other tools like moisture sensors, moisture meters, and thermohygrometers to define how much moisture has been absorbed. You can't remove all the water if you don't know it's there.

Water Damage Restoration in East Longmeadow, MA

An East Longmeadow, Massachusetts family was away for three days over the 2016 New Year’s Eve holiday. When they returned home Sunday, January 3, 2016 they discovered their furnace had backed up and caused water rather than steam to travel through their heating system. Every radiator in the house leaked water across two floors and throughout the basement. This picture shows just some of the damage. The family called SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield immediately. We began emergency cleanup and restoration services within two hours. The SERVPRO team extracted water, packed up dozens of boxes of valuables, and moved the boxes to our climate controlled warehouse. We then removed damaged walls and ceilings, removed damaged carpets, installed drying and ant-microbial equipment. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield received the call because a family member had a great experience with us performing clean up and restoration after a fire.

Water and Mud Damage Clean Up in Simsbury

In July 2016 the Farmington Valley received a drenching rain. The drain at a Simsbury independent school couldn’t handle the volume so water flowed into an entrance door and onto the floors carrying a large amount of mud. More than 7,000 square feet was flooded with water and mud. SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield responded within a hour of the school’s call and had a cleanup crew at the site within two hours. The clean up, restoration, and dry out took five days. The all girl boarding school was incredibly happy and has called SERVPRO of Bloomfield/Enfield  for several other jobs since.
